Step 1: You design your building and choose your finishes
Step 2: You decide your level of build assistance or if you want to build it yourself
Step 3: Your panelized package or "Cabin/Home Kit" is created at the factory in Prince George
Step 4: Your package is delivered to your site
Step 5: Either we put it together or you follow the step by step instructions
Step 6: Enjoy your building
Note: Homes can have timber accents and log siding which will create a similar look of timber frame construction.
How do you create a plan with Cameron Manors?
It's easy!
If you already have your plans ready or want to choose a stock plan or want something from scratch:
Either have your plans you have already drawn up with an architect sent to us via PDF or send us your
plans. We will then send them to estimating for you to have a price, all we need to know is your
basement type, floor joist type and the exterior siding /roofing choice you want.
If you only have a dream and don't know where to start:
If you have an idea of what you want but have nothing on paper yet just call us for a consultation. For $1 a
square foot deposit (or $1,000 minimum) our designers will work with you to get your home or cottage
plan the way you want it. Best of all if it is not a design that requires an engineer our designers can
create blueprints for your home free of charge, we only require the deposit to ensure that our designers
time is being used for our customers.
The Customer will receive:
- Min. 1 hour consultation with design, estimating and sales representatives
- A preliminary set of drawings (4 elevations, detailed floor plan)
- A firm quote (standard specifications) based on the proposed design if no other changes are required
The customer will now be able to speak with appropriate trades to get semi-firm pricing on finishing the home.
The customer will receive:
- 2 additional opportunities to revise the plan
- 6 sets of final, construction ready plans
- Applicable engineering
- Final quote
The customer can now apply for permits and have all trades commit to firm pricing.
All deposits will be applied to the purchase price of the package and is not an additional charge.
Don't know where to start?
We usually recommend looking through a plan website such as our manufacturers affiliated site
www.westhomeplanners.com or www.spectrumhomeplans.com. Any of these plans can be modified, but we will have to purchase the
rights to the designs. This will not only give you ideas, but to help get a starting point. If you decide not
to continue with our products at this time the plans are still yours to keep and get all your development
permits in place. If you still don't find what you are looking for freehand draw your design and details
you want in your home and we will do the rest.
Is there anything you cannot build?
We can usually build anything out of wood. We are able to build any size building package. Please call
us if you are still unsure. To get your permit you will need a set of blueprints, plot plan on your lot (we can provide this for an additional charge) and completed forms required by the building authority. Please refer to your spec
sheet for detailed information. If a truss layout and stamp is required you will have to give Winton
the 15% deposit on the package prior to them getting this information for you. It takes approximately 2 weeks for this information to be compiled.
Your packages final price is determined once you have made all your drawing choices. It can be done
without financial commitment or deposit. It does take 10 working days.
To arrange delivery you will need to give full detailed directions to your site and determine if a
flatdeck trailer can get onto the property. You must arrange for labour and machinery to unload the
truck within 4 hours. One person must complete the delivery checklist and let the Cameron Manors
Representative know of the shortage if any should occur. If we are building for you this is taken care
of by us.
The packages are laser numbered and come with detailed instructions. If you are a self-builder you
will have telephone support and optional site visits for troubleshooting. Fuel charges may apply.

Stick Builders- local builders
- Be careful of local builders that ask for our price and then under bid based on that knowledge.We have found a few that are not licensed, take longer to build and offer no warranty program. They are usually quoting in downgraded siding and shingles. So compare apples to apples.
Hardware Stores- Local chains of hardware stores owned in smaller towns offer a planning guide with 3d walkthrough.
- They charge for the drafting changes and do not credit customers back any of the fees.
- The walls are not factory framed, the quality of the wood is not monitored and the customer is in charge of exchanging any items at their own cost
- There is a lot of waste due to some wood studs being unusable and the drywall cracked costing you more to tape your home
- No set person that is able to assist you if you run into problems on site due to turn over
- Customers usually spend 25% more than originally quoted due to missed items in the quote and by the time they realize it they cannot back out
Hybrid Homes and package competitors with Showhomes:
- Ensure that the quote you recieve is for all the same materials as some packages are supplied with vinyl, less insulation and OSB. We can downgrade our specks on request
- Ensure that the package is panelized- some competitors only deliver wood and panelized systems are more expensive
- Ensure the truck is loaded properly so you are not wasting time looking for pieces
- Ask the turn around time if something is not on the shipment or damaged as we offer 24 -48 hours
- Check on the drafting time as most places can take up to 1 year to draft.
- Don't pay more than you have to- hybrid homes are avilable at a fraction of the price by just ordering a package and adding timber accents
- Remember- you are paying for their showhome. We use current projects to save you money and give you a variety of homes.
