Self Builders - Options

Hardie siding is a concrete fibreboard which comes standard with all of our packages. It comes
with a slight wood texture, but can be modified to a shaker or board/batton look. It comes
precolored or primed for you to paint. It is a low maintenance product as it holds the color for 15

Vinyl
Vinyl is a low maintenance siding and is our least expensive option. We have to inform our
customers that if you are looking at the bold reds that you would be better off going with the
Hardie siding as it will most likely be the same price. Bold color vinyl can be 3 times the price of

Canexel
Canexel is a prestige pressed low maintenance siding. It has the ability to look like true wood

Cedar Siding
Cedar siding is beautiful but is definately a maintenance product. It falls in the same price range
as our signature log siding. They will need to be treated and sealed front and back prior to
installation to prevent rot and bowing.

Log Siding
Winton's signature log siding gives you the look of a log home without the downfalls of a
traditional log home and well within your budget. You can use this product inside the home also
to add the look of a log home to the interior along with some timber accents.

Stucco
Unfortunately we do not supply Stucco as it requires a professional applicator. We are more than
happy to credit you for your siding so that you can have a contractor come and do the stucco.

Metal Siding
We can supply metal siding for those who want this product. It is usually the duriclad material.

Stone
We can provide you with faux stone panels that are easy to install yourself. Please visit their

Timber Accents
Timber accents are a great addition to any home. All of the timber framing is designed and
custom built for our customers. Please note that the timber frame accents can be a little tricky to
install and very heavy. Please allow the appropriate time addition to your project to avoid
frustration. As always we are here to help. Timber accents can really become pricy fast. Please
let us know what budget you are allowing for your accents so we can get you the look you want
at the price you want.

Pine Ceiling Finish
We offer a premium Pine tongue and groove ceiling finish with your package. Our product is
priced the same as far inferior products in the market. Please call us for a quote.

Fibreglass Shingles

Prolok Metal Roofing
Prolok is the more prestige and most common metal siding. It provides a comfortable interior for
residential use as it is a higher grade and applied on sheathing. It is easier to install as it comes
in smaller widths and is less likely to get damaged with the wether. It is about $3/floor area sq
foot more expensive than duriclad, but well worth it. Please visit Westform for more info.

Duriclad Metal Roofing
Duriclad is an economical metal roofing that is installed on strapping and comes in larger sheets.
You must be a little more careful when installing on windy days as this will fold on you. Please

FLOOR JOISTS
We offer 3 different types of floor joists.
1) 2x10 which is just your regular timber
2) I joists which many people call engineered
3) Our 2x6 or "webbed" truly engineered floor joist. This option is about $3500 more per 1000 sq
feet but it eliminates bulkheads as your plumbing,venting and electrical is run easily through the
webs. You can also eliminate many teleposts or a load bearing wall using this system. if you want
more headroom and open areas in your basement this is well worth the money.

Doorknobs
Yes you do have a choice. If you want to choose your door hardware you must visit this site.
We do have a matte black that is not shown on our brouchure.

Windows
We currently use Jeld-wen white vinyl sliders as our standard. You do get a choice of all the
windows and doors in your home.Please visit Jeld-wen. We can also get CWD and Gienow
products however we cannot guarantee the delivery time.

Doors
Your home comes with insulated metal doors as shown on the plan. You are able to upgrade or
modify your doors, just let us know your selection. Please visit Jeld-wen If you are ordering the

Flooring
We are happy to provide all our customers with quality standard hardwood, exotic hardwood, laminate and engineered hardwood flooring. Affordably priced from $5.50 a square foot installed. Please contact Simone at 1-403-667-0329 to view samples in the Calgary area or have samples brough to our office and sent to site if you are outside the Calgary area. The laminate flooring is a 5/8" thick flooring that you will not find in most laminate provider's showrooms. Is is installed on a rubber underlay. Exterior Railing (optional upgrade)
